New York, NY – Thomas Nickles Project is pleased to announce the first solo exhibition with the gallery of Cuban-born artist Osmeivy Ortega. With a body of work consisting of graphic prints handmade from woodblocks meticulously and energetically carved with a stainless-steel spoon, Ortega produces interconnected pieces that speak to the ways that iconography lingers within the natural world. Abundance, his forthcoming exhibition, will bring together a mixture of prints and blocks, showcasing Ortega’s interest in the plentiful perceptual possibilities of his practice.
