About
Established in 2016, Thomas Nickles Project is a contemporary art gallery with an evolving program of emerging and mid-career Cuban artists living in Cuba and abroad. TNP is committed to the exploration of the expanding concept of Cuban art and the criteria by which it is defined.
The gallery provides a platform for artists who are experimenting with a wide range of techniques, mediums, and concepts; the program is evolving, reflecting the dynamic nature of contemporary Cuban art. TNP aims to be a space for collaboration and dialogue, where Cuban culture and its representatives have a place in the New York City’s Lower East Side, with our program we aspire to broaden the Cuban art scene. Critical reviews of gallery exhibitions have appeared in Hyperallergic, The New York Times, Surface, Miami New Times, and New York Amsterdam News. The gallery has had works acquired by the Bank of America Collection and has participated in major art fairs in the United States and Latin America.
